About the museum
Kongsvoldtunet lies idyllically by Rostavatn in Målselv, with Rostafjellet as a backdrop. The main house on the farmstead, Kongslistua, previously stood at the farm Kongsli, one kilometre further in. The same applies to Kårstua nearest the road, Veslestua and the forge (smia). The storehouse (stabbur) was moved here from Elvevold at the innermost end of Rostadalen, and Lundbergstua previously stood at Klasrommet, a cotter’s farm (husmannsplass) under Nergård.
The cowshed and the main house behind Kongslistua were originally built at Kongsvold. From the farmstead a marked walking trail leads up to Rostakulen, which has a magnificent view over the Målselv valley. Kongsvoldtunet is managed by Midt-Troms Museum.
