About the museum
Vitensenter Nordland (science centre) is located at Midtre gate 1 in Mo i Rana and is a regional offer for all of Nordland. The centre is part of the national network of science centres in Norway and works with schools, nurseries, business and the public sector. The aim is to make science and technology accessible and relevant regardless of age or background.
The exhibitions are fully interactive and can be explored freely in any order. They are arranged in thematic areas: the body, the earth and the universe, physical phenomena, sustainability and climate, natural resources, mathematics, our senses and energy. Here visitors can test forces and movement, build structures and solve challenges, and facilitators (formidlere) are always nearby to help.
The centre is in the same building as Rana museum and Sjyén Restaurant, and offers teaching programmes for schools and nurseries, birthday celebrations, science shows and courses.
