About the museum
The Centrum Edukacji Leśnej (Forest Education Centre) in Celestynów opened on 15 October 2009. It belongs to the Celestynów Forest District (Nadleśnictwo Celestynów) and is one of the largest forest education centres in Poland. Its task is to spread knowledge about the forest, about managing natural resources and about the responsible use of the environment.
The main building houses a nature exhibition and a conference room, and in one of the rooms visitors can use sound and touch elements. Around the building trails have been laid out, along with an arboretum, a flower meadow with Polish species, an artificial beaver lodge by the pond, a playground with a zip line and sports pitches.
Visits to the centre and educational classes for groups, by prior booking, are free of charge. On selected weekends the forest district organises open days and events for families, and nearby there is the nature trail Goździkowe Bagno.
