Jasna Góra – Muzea klasztorne

Monastery museums of the Pauline Fathers at Jasna Góra: the Museum of the 600th Jubilee, the Treasury with votive offerings, the St Roch Bastion with exhibitions and the Museum of St John Paul II.

Opening hours

About the museum

Jasna Góra is a Pauline monastery in Częstochowa and the main Marian shrine in Poland. In the Chapel of Our Lady the miraculous image of Our Lady of Częstochowa is kept. Pilgrims bring votive offerings here, and the collections are shown in the museums on the shrine’s grounds.

The Treasury and the Museum of the 600th Jubilee of Jasna Góra belong to the collections of votive art, which are looked after by the Custodian of the Votive Art Collections. Separate exhibitions are housed in the St Roch Bastion, known as the Treasury of National Memory. Among other things, they show displays about “Solidarność” (Solidarity) in pilgrims’ votive offerings and about Polish roads to freedom, as well as mementos of the victims of the Smolensk air disaster.

Guided tours also lead through the Knights’ Hall with banners, the St Barbara Bastion, the Jasna Góra Golgotha and the Museum of St John Paul II and Blessed Primate Wyszyński. Tours are organised by the Jasna Góra Information Centre. Because of the sacred character of the place, appropriate dress is required.
