About the museum
The Muzeum bł. Edmunda Bojanowskiego (Museum of Blessed Edmund Bojanowski) is housed in an early 19th-century manor house in Grabonóg, where Edmund Bojanowski, founder of the Congregation of the Servants of the Immaculate Mary (Zgromadzenie Sióstr Służebniczek Maryi Niepokalanej), was born in 1814. The manor house was renovated through social effort, and the museum opened on 16 November 1981. The statute was adopted in December 1983. The museum is looked after by the Zespół Szkół Rolniczych im. gen. Józefa Wybickiego (Gen. Józef Wybicki Agricultural School Complex) and now also by the Sisters Servants.
In July 1982 the museum was visited by Prof. Stanisław Helsztyński, who donated documents, photographs and books and became the benefactor of the library. In 1989–1990 a gallery of non-professional painting and sculptures by Czesław Ptak in the attic were added. The collections number more than 7 thousand exhibits and fill seven rooms of the manor house.
On the ground floor there are archaeological finds from Grabonóg; in the Biedermeier-style salon there are hunting trophies and militaria, and in a separate room folk costumes and instruments from Biskupizna. The largest group consists of ethnographic collections donated by residents. The upper floor holds memorabilia of Bojanowski and gifts from mission countries. Outside, sheds hold over a hundred old agricultural machines, and there is a restored koźlak windmill, a forge and a carpentry workshop modelled on old workshops.
