About the museum
The Muzeum Browarnictwa Dolnośląskiego is located in the cellars of the Browar Lwówek at ul. Traugutta and opened to visitors together with the official opening of the brewery. According to the brewery, it is the only museum of its kind in Lower Silesia.
The collection includes almost 400 exhibits documenting the history of brewing in Lwówek. Display cases show collections of bottles and caps from around forty breweries that once operated in Lower Silesia, as well as labels, beer mugs, signs and crates. There are old devices for making and storing beer, including an original beer cooler from 1905 and a steel barrel from 1935, made by the Krupp works for the Hohberg brewery in Lwówek.
The visit begins with a short film. A guide then leads visitors through the working brewery: the old and new brew houses, the lagering cellar, the fermentation room and the bottling hall.
