About the museum
The Muzeum Czartoryskich w Puławach was established in 2009 in the Czartoryski Palace, the former seat of one of the most important Polish magnate families. Until the beginning of 2017 it was a branch of the Vistula Museum (Muzeum Nadwiślańskie) in Kazimierz Dolny, after which it was taken over by the city of Puławy. The director since 2017 has been Honorata Mielniczenko.
The exhibitions occupy selected rooms of the palace, including the Sala Tradycji (Tradition Hall), the Stone, Gothic and Knights’ Halls, and the interiors of the staircase. They tell the story of the life and activity of the Czartoryski family in the 18th and 19th centuries, especially of Adam Kazimierz and Izabela Czartoryska née Flemming, and of their children and grandchildren. In 2015 the exhibition was supplemented with gifts from the Fundacja Książąt Czartoryskich (Foundation of the Princes Czartoryski).
In the summer season the park structures can also be visited: the Świątynia Sybilli (Temple of the Sibyl), the Dom Gotycki (Gothic House) and the Domek Aleksandryjski (Alexandrian Cottage). The park is open to everyone free of charge.
