About the museum
The Muzeum Nietypowych Rowerów in Gołąb has been run since 1987 by its founder, curator and guide Józef Konstanty Majewski. It is a private institution located on the road linking Warsaw, Dęblin, Puławy and Kazimierz Dolny.
The collection includes unusual bicycles: recumbent, circus, galloping and jumping bikes, bikes with the steering at the back, rickshaws and tandems. Visitors can not only look at them but also ride some of them themselves, and the owner talks about the history of the bicycle and his exhibits.
The museum runs museum lessons on repairing and maintaining bicycles, the history of the bicycle and the bicycle as an environmentally friendly vehicle. On the premises there is also a forge, where blacksmithing demonstrations are held, and at weekends the craft is taught. The Muzeum Pijaństwa is located on the same property.
