About the museum
The Muzeum i Galeria “Brama” (Brama Museum and Gallery) operates within the Gryfice House of Culture (Gryficki Dom Kultury), a municipal organisational unit. Its seat is the 15th-century Brama Wysoka (High Gate), one of the elements of the former town fortifications. The museum opened in December 2005.
The permanent historical exhibition tells the story of the town and its surroundings. It shows old documents, everyday objects, militaria and geological exhibits. The collections were donated by, among others, the Gryfice school complex, the town authorities, and institutions and private individuals. In 2012 memorabilia of the closed Cukrownia Gryfice (Gryfice sugar factory) came to the museum.
The gallery section presents works by local artists and temporary exhibitions. According to information from the town, the venue is open from Tuesday to Saturday, and admission is free.
