About the museum
The Museum of Polish Vodka has operated since June 2018 in the historic building of the former Rectification Plant, which belonged to the former Warsaw Vodka Factory ‘Koneser’ in Warsaw’s Praga district. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, an extensive complex of neo-Gothic buildings stood here, where well-known brands were bottled, including Luksusowa and Wyborowa. After the site was revitalised, the former factory became the Koneser Praga Centre.
The museum’s aim is to show the history, traditions and significance of vodka in Polish culture, and to explain how it is made, from which raw materials, and how it is tasted. The permanent exhibition was designed by the studio Nizio Design International, and the museum’s visual identity was prepared by Andrzej Pągowski.
The route leads through a cinema hall and four interactive galleries. Visitors look into a virtual workshop of a medieval alchemist and a traditional rural distillery, enter a former tavern and a noble manor house, and see bottles and labels from the last hundred years. The visit ends in the tasting room, where the guide shows how to assess the taste of vodka. Entry is only possible with a guide, at set times.
