About the museum
The museum was founded in 1977 by Wacław Tuwalski, long-time head of the school in Wola Osowińska and chairman of the local Regional Society. Together with members of the society and school pupils he collected old farm and kitchen tools, interior furnishings, as well as recordings of old songs and accounts from older residents about work on the manor, rituals and experiences from the Second World War.
In 1987 the museum had to leave its previous seat in the historic palace, which had begun to decay, and paused its activity for several years. Since 1995 it has operated continuously in the building of the former Primary School (Szkoła Powszechna), built by community effort in 1934–1935.
The exhibition occupies several rooms: an entrance hall with farm tools, a room devoted to weaving with workshops and tools for processing flax, a kitchen furnished like an old izba, with a bread oven, a living room, a historical exhibition on local history against the background of national history, and a small school office.
