About the museum

Muzeum Techniki Wojskowej GRYF was founded in April 2013 by Marian Kotecki. Since May 2015 its seat has been in Dąbrówka near Wejherowo, where the collections are shown on the museum grounds: in an exhibition hall, in an underground bunker and in an outdoor exhibition.

The collection includes more than one hundred military vehicles, among them tanks, as well as historic cars, guns, rockets, small arms, uniforms and military equipment. A separate section is the sapper exhibition, which according to the museum holds the largest collection in Poland of bombs, mines, grenades, artillery ammunition and sapper equipment.

The museum's idea is to show the exhibits in a lively way: most of them are technically operational and are sometimes started up during open-air historical shows. The museum works with historical reenactment groups whose members crew the vehicles, and takes part in the production of historical films and series. The institution is under the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
