About the museum

The Przemyśl Fortress Museum was established on the initiative of members of the Association of the 3rd Historical Galician Fortress Artillery Regiment named after Prince Kinsky. It continues the permanent exhibition run in 2002–2009 under the name Muzeum Twierdzy Przemyskiej, which was housed in the Garrison Club at ul. Grodzka 8. The museum is now located in the building of the Guild of Various Crafts (Cech Rzemiosł Różnych) at ul. Katedralna 6.

The collections contain objects from the former Przemyśl Fortress from the late 19th and early 20th century, from the period of the fortress's construction and the first years of the war. Visitors can see edged weapons and firearms, soldiers' equipment, photographs, armoured fittings of the forts, artillery shells and fuzes, and personal and utility items belonging to the fortress garrison.

Large objects, such as an armoured observation turret, parts of an armoured combat turret and fragments of blown-up guns, are located on the grounds of Fort XV Borek in Siedliska, which is a branch of the museum.
