About the museum

The granary at ul. Jeziornej in the old town of Drawno was built in the 60s–70s of the 19th century. The building was restored in 2006–2007; during the conservation work a German manuscript from April 1874 was discovered, an extract from the minutes of a session of the royal district court. The restored granary was turned into a Tourist Information Centre, which promotes the town and the Drawno commune.

On the second floor of the granary is the museum known as the Galeria Pamiątek Ziemi Drawieńskiej (Gallery of Mementoes of the Drawno Land). The institution collects and preserves historical objects and also organises exhibitions, vernissages, lectures, meetings and educational activities.

The gallery shows old photographs and postcards of Drawno from before 1945, 19th-century merchant lists, agricultural tools and everyday objects, militaria and medieval ceramics. A memorial to the town's former Jewish community also stands next to the granary.
