About the museum
The Museum of Toys in Kudowa-Zdrój is a private institution founded in December 2002 at ul. Zdrojowa. More than 10,000 toys have been gathered there in an exhibition area of about 300 m². They come mainly from the 19th and 20th centuries, and the oldest reach back to antiquity.
The collection includes toy theatres, Nativity cribs, building blocks, mechanical toys and militaria, such as toy soldiers. In July 2010 the museum opened a branch in Krynica-Zdrój, and in 2012 it was invited, as the only Polish museum, to the World Congress of Toy Museums in Istanbul. Selected presentations of the museum were also shown outside its seat, among other places in the Museum of the Kłodzko Land, at Książ Castle and in Szczecin.
Besides visits, the museum runs workshops in which participants make their own version of a traditional wooden toy, as well as classes for school and kindergarten groups.
