About the museum
The Garwolin Land Museum was established in 2009 at the Agricultural School Complex (Zespół Szkół Rolniczych) in Miętne. Its basis was the collections gathered by the school and the private collection of the regionalist Ludwik Goździ from Wola Rębkowska, which the Garwolin municipality bought after his death in 2007. At first the exhibition was housed in the basements under the hotel part of the Conference and Sports Centre.
Later the museum was linked with the District Centre of Culture and Promotion, which operates in a historic manor house in Miętne. The collections have recently been put in order and partly prepared for reopening to residents and schools.
The exhibition presents craft and agricultural tools, household objects, elements of traditional interior furnishing, old costumes, decorations and handicrafts. Visitors can also see a weaving loom and a reconstructed village room. Earlier, a historical exhibition with documents, decorations, coins, photographs and books connected with the Garwolin land was also shown here.
