About the museum
The Muzeum Ziemi Zaklikowskiej was founded in 1995 at the Gminny Ośrodek Kultury in Zaklików. It collects exhibits from Zaklików and the surrounding villages, largely donated by private donors.
The collections show the region's past material culture. The exhibition also includes a corner commemorating the town's Jewish residents. The town, chartered in 1565 under Magdeburg law, lost its town rights in the 19th century and regained them on 1 January 2014.
The museum is part of the Gminny Ośrodek Kultury, which operates in the Dom Kultury building completed in 1975. The centre also runs the municipal library and a branch in Lipa.
