About the museum

The Skansen Maszyn i Urządzeń Rolniczych w Niedrzwicy Kościelnej was created by the local Fundacja “Ocalić od Zapomnienia” (Foundation “Save from Oblivion”). Collecting of exhibits began in 2013, and the official opening took place on 21 June 2014. Most of the mementos come from residents of the village and the surrounding area.

The collection includes about 180 agricultural machines and devices: ploughs, ploughshares, chaff cutters, threshing machines, mowers, reapers, straw presses, hand querns, carts and sleighs. The oldest exhibit is said to be an 18th-century horse gin (kierat). It is supplemented by objects of daily use, such as butter churns and flax breakers.

A separate part is the exhibition “Nerw Armii” (Nerve of the Army), which presents post-war equipment of the chemical, signals and engineer troops. The site also serves as a venue for local events, including the picnic “Święto pieczonego ziemniaka” (Baked Potato Festival).
