About the museum
The Multicultural Regional Room in Trzebina is housed in the former gatehouse of the palace and park complex, also called the granary. The village of Trzebina lies at the foot of the Opawskie Mountains in the commune of Lubrza, in the Prudnik district. The room opened in 2010 as a local institution presenting the heritage of the region.
The palace was built around 1600 by the Wachtel family and was converted in the 19th century. It burned down in 1945, and ruins of the late-Renaissance structure have survived to this day. The gatehouse was erected at the beginning of the 17th century and was originally connected to the palace by a gallery. It is a brick, plastered, three-storey building on a nearly square plan, with a passage closed by a flattened arch. The site of the former palace complex belongs to the commune of Lubrza.
Nearby there are also the Baroque parish church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1726 and a park, in which a spring of mineral water with healing properties was discovered in 1811.
