About the museum
The Museo delle Curiosità is located in an old palace in the historic centre of San Marino, along the road up to the Rocca. The permanent exhibition occupies about 600 square metres over three floors and is devoted to curiosity in all its forms: a collection of objects, facts and personalities that takes visitors on a journey through oddities from every corner of the world.
The display cases hold more than a hundred original objects, often unique pieces, used in past centuries but unusual today: among them an 18th-century French commode chair, a 19th-century English moustache cup, a flea trap and a rocking bath tub. The life-size figures commemorate people who have set world records, such as Robert Wadlow, the tallest man in the world, Pauline Musters, the smallest woman, and Jon Brower Minnoch, the heaviest man. The museum is aimed at adults as well as children and young people.
