About the museum
The Mestské múzeum v Pezinku was established by the town council on 19 September 2002 as a contributory organisation of the town. It began its activity on 1 March 2003. It collects, professionally processes and makes accessible records of the history of the town of Pezinok.
It is housed in the Renaissance town hall, which the town had built after being elevated to a free royal town in 1647. The town hall was created in 1654–1657 by rebuilding several burgher houses and the municipal bath.
The permanent exhibition Zo zeme (From the Earth) uses archaeological finds to present the history of Pezinok and its surroundings from prehistory to the early modern period; it is spread across three rooms. The museum also prepares exhibitions, archive and archaeological research and publications on the history of the town.
