About the museum

On the most beautiful stretch of the wine tourist road in Bizeljsko, the old Fil farmstead has been preserved; three generations lived and worked in it. Marija Sušnik set up in it an ethnographic collection of the wider area, which complements the tourist image of Bizeljsko.

In the old residential house and the farm building there is a permanent exhibition of farm equipment, vessels, tools, and printed and photographic material, with emphasis on viticulture. The collection guides visitors through the last hundred years of everyday life and comprises around 2,000 objects donated or deposited by local residents.

The surroundings cover 5,000 m², where high-stem fruit trees, shrubs and annual plants grow. Below the farmstead the Naceljev potoček (Naceljev Brook) rises, in which the alder crayfish (raki jelševci) have survived.
