About the museum
The gallery is named after the Kamnik painter Miha Maleš (1903–1987). It was established in 1979 as a branch of the Medobčinski muzej Kamnik, when Miha Maleš presented the town with 2,634 of his works on the 750th anniversary of the first mention of Kamnik townspeople in written sources. The first exhibition on the life and work of Miha Maleš was presented in 1980 in the renovated rooms of a townhouse.
The gallery rooms are on the first and second floors of a townhouse at Glavni trg 2 in the centre of Kamnik. The Galerija Pogled is located in the same house. The gallery has several permanent exhibitions devoted to the artist; temporary exhibitions are mostly connected with his life and work.
