About the museum
Negova Castle stands in the settlement of the same name in the Slovenske gorice hills and is first mentioned in 1425 under the name Egaw. From 1542 until the end of the Second World War it was owned by the Counts of Trautmansdorf. In the 16th century the castle was extended with three wings with towers, and in the 17th century the so-called new castle was built. In 1939 the castle burned down, destroying several buildings, and one of its towers was demolished. After the war the castle was nationalised and used for housing.
Today the castle complex is a cultural monument of national importance. The interior of the new castle is open to visitors during the season; the Pristava houses a tourist information centre, and a herb park has been laid out beside the castle. Guided tours present the architecture of the castle and themes from the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the area: the Negovske čelade (Negova Helmets), gorske pravde (mountain justice) and the pillory, Dihanje Zemlje (The Breathing of the Earth), the herb garden, and the last witch trial in the Radgona region, as well as the stories of local personalities of the 20th century, such as academician Dr Anton Trstenjak and benefactor Ivan Kramberger. The castle also hosts exhibitions and cultural events.

Wedding (ceremony only): package 1 – ceremony in the wedding hall with reception for guests (3 hours) €320; package 2 – ceremony in the inner courtyard with reception for guests (3 hours) €400.
