About the museum
The blacksmith museum was founded in 1997 by the blacksmith Anton Horvat; the Horvat family has been engaged in blacksmithing for more than one hundred and fifty years. The collection is one of the few complete blacksmith collections in Slovenia and shows blacksmith tools and equipment as well as original blacksmith products.
The museum displays the tools of three generations of blacksmiths, more than 200 years old. In 2013 the Horvat family added a wheelwright museum to the collection. The visit includes a demonstration of blacksmithing. The family also has a space suitable for picnics and other gatherings.
