About the museum
The Muzej na meji (Museum on the Border) project combines four small museum collections along the Slovene–Italian state border, which in 1947 cut through the previously unified Goriška region. The central one is the Kolodvor collection in the railway station building in Nova Gorica, which shows the state border in the Goriška region from 1945 to 2004.
The other collections are the Vojaški stražarski stolp (military watchtower) in Vrtojba, the Muzejska zbirka Miren in the building at the Miren cemetery, and the Muzejska zbirka Pristava in the premises of the former minor border crossing at Pristava. At Pristava there is also an escape room, “Na šverc!” (Smuggling!), with smuggling motifs.
