About the museum
The collection is part of the Ferencovi tourist farm in the village of Krašči in Goričko, by the eastern shore of Lake Ledava (Ledavsko jezero). The farm has been handed down from generation to generation for more than 200 years and has welcomed visitors since 1991.
The farm keeps a collection of farm tools and machines, some of which are protected as monuments and declared cultural technical heritage. Part of the collection is displayed in the open-air farm museum with old machines and tools, which is partly covered by a thatched roof; elements of traditional Prekmurje architecture have been built into the structure.
The owners pay great attention to the values of the past. On request, and with enough guests, they organise demonstrations of traditional thatching with straw, basket weaving from willow, and making flowers from crepe paper.
