About the museum
The Centre d'Interpretació 115 Dies in Corbera d'Ebre is the reference centre on the Battle of the Ebro, one of the most important episodes of the Spanish Civil War. It takes its name from the 115 days the confrontation lasted, from the night of Santiago in 1938, when the Republican army crossed the river, to the withdrawal in November. The centre is run by the COMEBE (Consorci Memorial dels Espais de la Batalla de l'Ebre), which also looks after other interpretation centres, memorials and historical sites in the area.
The permanent exhibition offers a comprehensive view of the military and political conflict and is divided into seven areas. The route begins with a sensory introduction that transports visitors to the battle sites, continues with the crossing of the river and the objectives of each army, explains the preparations for the offensive and the fighting, and reaches the last day and the defeat of the Republic, with its consequences for those who had to leave their land.
The last two areas invite reflection, the recovery of historical memory and reconciliation. The aim of the centre is for visitors to understand that the battle was not merely a sequence of military actions on a map, but an episode in which the lives, ideals and hopes of many people were at stake. A combined ticket is available with the other COMEBE interpretation centres and with the Poble Vell of Corbera d'Ebre.
