About the museum
The Casa-Museo de la Semana Santa was built in 1970 and is popularly known as the “Casa de los Santos” (House of the Saints). It was conceived to bring together the heritage of Cieza’s Passion brotherhoods under one roof.
The ground floor is devoted to the processional thrones and to some Passion images, while the remaining images are kept for worship in the town’s parish churches. Salon-type thrones in Andalusian, Levantine or Castilian style can be seen. On the first floor are the meeting rooms, the premises of the individual brotherhoods, the seat of the Junta de Hermandades and the exhibition room, which displays written and graphic documentation of Cieza’s Holy Week together with current and earlier processional items.
As well as a museum, the building hosts events and exhibitions relating to the town’s Holy Week.
