About the museum
The centre is housed in the Pazo de los Condes de Ribadavia, a building from the 17th and 18th centuries on the Praza Maior, which it shares with the town's tourist office. It offers a broad overview of the history of the Hebrew people in Galicia, both before and after 1492.
The exhibition explains the customs of the Jewish communities, their relations with Christians, their distribution across the territory, the places where they lived and the conflicts that ended in expulsion or flight. It serves as a starting point for learning about the Jewish heritage of the town and organises temporary exhibitions.
The tourist office also offers guided tours of Ribadavia's Jewish quarter, which combine a walk through the streets with a visit to the centre.
