About the museum
The Centro de Interpretación del Císter in Granja de Moreruela is housed in a modern steel-and-glass building, whose geometric forms and cubic volumes evoke the sobriety of Cistercian architecture. It complements a visit to the nearby monastery of Santa María de Moreruela, which lies beside the Esla river.
The exhibition room brings together panels, models of Cistercian architecture and archaeological finds from the monastery. The aim of the centre is to make known the history of the Cistercian order and its art.
