About the museum
The El Paso Visitor Centre is the main information point of the Caldera de Taburiente National Park on La Palma. It also serves as the park's management and fire prevention centre. It sits beside the LP-2 road, which links Santa Cruz de La Palma with Los Llanos de Aridane, and from it runs the seven-kilometre road to the La Cumbrecita viewpoint, the park's most visited spot.
The exhibition room offers a general introduction to protected areas, geology and hydrology, animal and plant life, the human environment and visits to the park. A 70-seat screening room shows several audiovisuals about the Caldera de Taburiente, with audio in Spanish, German and English. The offer is completed by a video library, a library on national parks, the natural history of the Canary Islands and the Caldera itself, and an outdoor educational botanic garden of endemic plants.
