About the museum
The El Bosque Visitor Centre is the main information point of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park for those arriving from the north of the sierra. It is run by the Junta de Andalucía and is at the entrance to the village of El Bosque, in the province of Cádiz.
Its exhibition presents the variety of the sierra's landscapes and the way its inhabitants have preserved the natural and cultural richness of the territory. It also covers the traditional use of resources such as cork, livestock farming and hunting. To do so, it combines panels, models, dioramas and computer and mechanical resources with which visitors can explore the content on their own.
Besides the exhibition, the centre offers a reception desk, visitor services and a shop. The authorisation to walk the trails of the park's Área de Reserva (Reserve Area) is processed there. Very close by is the El Castillejo botanical garden, with species of the Mediterranean forest and a collection of pinsapos, the fir characteristic of this sierra.
