About the museum
Villaluenga del Rosario, in the Sierra de Cádiz, is known as the cheese capital of the province. Traditional cheesemaking, handed down from generation to generation, is one of the town's most important economic activities, and the town council has dedicated a museum to it in a municipal building in the Parque de La Albarrada.
Through explanatory panels and two audiovisuals, the exhibition tells how cheese came about, what role it plays in the Mediterranean diet and what the production process involves. According to the province's tourist guides, the museum offers guided visits, guided tastings, cheese tastings and production workshops, and it has a shop selling cheeses and complementary products directly to visitors.
