About the museum

The Fundación Museo de Artes do Gravado á Estampa Dixital is based at the Museo del Grabado de Artes, in the municipality of Ribeira, in a natural setting near the Corrubedo dune complex and the Carregal and Vixán lagoons. In July 2001 the Xunta de Galicia recognised it as a foundation of Galician interest.

The institution is devoted to collecting, cataloguing, studying and disseminating graphic art, from the first printing techniques of the 15th century to contemporary digital printmaking. Its holdings exceed 30,000 prints by more than 400 artists, among them Goya, Rubens, Van Dyck, Toulouse-Lautrec, Dalí, Picasso, and Galician printmakers such as Alfonso Costa and Manuel Ayaso.

The museum has three exhibition rooms open to the public, a print cabinet where works are arranged by school, a library with illustrated volumes and a lecture hall. Since 2009 the foundation has awarded the Premio Atlante de grabado (printmaking prize).
