About the museum

The S-61 “Delfín” is a Daphne-class submarine that, after being decommissioned from the Navy, was handed over to the Torrevieja City Council. It is moored in the city’s fishing port and on 8 May 2004 became the first ship of the Spanish Navy converted into a floating museum in Spain.

The city’s link with the submarine goes back further: Torrevieja received its battle flag on 1 December 1974. The visit allows you to walk through the interior of the vessel and enter its various compartments to see what life was like for the crew on board.

Next to the “Delfín” is the patrol boat Albatros III, which belonged to the Customs Surveillance Service and has been the city’s second floating museum since 2006. Together they form the floating museums of Torrevieja.
