About the museum

The Espai d'Art Contemporani de Castelló (EACC) is a centre for the production and dissemination of contemporary art that depends on the Institut Valencià de Cultura, a body of the Generalitat Valenciana. The project arose from the initiative of the public company Castellón Cultural, and the centre opened its doors in June 1999 to fill the lack of a large space dedicated to contemporary art in the city.

The building, designed by Julián Esteban Chapapría, Joaquín Lara and Fátima de Ramón, houses an exhibition room, a projection room, an archive room, workshop rooms, a space for concerts and a library. The programme combines exhibitions, installations, concerts, performances and educational activities for different audiences.

The centre also has a specialised bibliographic archive on contemporary art, whose catalogue can be consulted online, and organises visits for adult and school groups.

Getting there & parking

The centre is in the centre of Castelló, next to the Conservatory and the Higher School of Art and Design, behind Plaza Borrull. From the A-7 motorway: take the Castellón Sur exit, towards the city centre as far as Plaza Fadrell.
