About the museum
The municipal archaeology museum of La Vall d'Uixó has its origins in 1984, and it now reopens in a new location, the former Fàbrica de la Llum (light factory). In the early 20th century this building was the pioneering factory that introduced public street lighting powered by steam and coal. Later it housed companies such as Espumosos Gras and Calzados Rovira.
After its rehabilitation, the industrial building has become a centre for historical outreach. The route revolves around the exhibition “Del Fuego a la Luz. Historia y arqueología de La Vall d'Uixó” (From Fire to Light: History and Archaeology of La Vall d'Uixó), designed for all audiences. It combines archaeological finds with interactive recreations, such as an immersive reconstruction of an Iberian dwelling more than two thousand years old.
