About the museum
The Museo Arcade Vintage presents itself as the first major video game museum in Spain and has been operating in Ibi (Alicante) since 2019. It occupies more than 800 m² in the former Rico toy factory, on Calle Les Eres.
The Rico factory was the second toy company founded in Ibi. It was established in 1910 by former workers of Payá Hermanos and took the name Rico S. A. in 1922. After the Civil War it was known for its electric trains and, in the 1960s and 1970s, for toys such as the Mercedes and the Pegaso. Its activity ceased in the mid-1980s; the building was restored in 2009 and is now part of the town's historic heritage.
The permanent exhibition brings together more than 290 pieces that visitors can play: more than 140 original arcade machines, more than 120 classic microcomputers, around 60 retro consoles and a collection of pinball machines, as well as an area for current games and e-sports. The museum also organises workshops, courses, talks and events for all audiences.
