About the museum
The museum opened in 2014 alongside the Pagos del Rey winery in Morales de Toro, a brand of the Félix Solís Avantis group. It occupies the production hall of the former Cooperativa Virgen de las Viñas, a building from 1964 with a distinctive roof that has been preserved. On the ground floor, the 28 original fermentation tanks remain and form part of the exhibition.
The museum has around 1,000 m² of indoor space with exhibits, reproductions, audiovisual displays and interactive screens, and more than 2,000 m² of garden where the largest pieces are displayed, such as beam and cage presses, harvest carts and a delivery truck. The route takes you inside the tanks, past a viewing point over the ageing room with around 2,500 barrels, and through a virtual reality experience about the history of Toro wine. The visit ends with a tasting in the museum shop.
