About the museum
The Museo del Vino de Ronda is housed in a palace house in the old town that operated as a winery until 1977. It belongs to Bodegas La Sangre de Ronda and was created from 2006 by converting the former building, where archaeological remains indicate occupation for more than two thousand years.
The museum has ten permanent exhibition rooms, a covered courtyard with a Roman layout, an audiovisual room, a tasting room and a wine shop. Its best-known feature is the “Fuente del Vino” (Wine Fountain), an old stone fountain with four bronze taps from which different wines are served. During the restoration of the building more than twenty 500-litre clay jars were recovered.
The museum's offering includes guided tours, commented tastings, a tasting school and sensory workshops.
