About the museum
The Museo do Moucho opened in 1994 on the first floor of the social centre in Cerceda, in the province of A Coruña. It is entirely devoted to the moucho (owl), a nocturnal bird of prey.
It holds more than 5,000 pieces that depict the bird in various materials and formats: paintings, sculptures, small crafts and decorative arts.
In addition to the exhibition, the centre has a specialist library and a video library on this nocturnal bird. The Concello de Cerceda runs several municipal museums and offers free guided visits to its collections.
