About the museum
The museum occupies the former slaughterhouse of Atzeneta d'Albaida, a building erected in the 1930s to a design by the Valencian architect Javier Goerlich. It is a municipal museum that traces some nine hundred years of craftwork in the town.
Its route focuses on three crafts: esparto-grass manufacture, which is documented as early as the Muslim period; stonemasonry, from the 17th century; and the bronze bell founding of the Roses family, which is known internationally. Next to the main building, a former wash-house hosts lectures, temporary exhibitions and workshops.
