About the museum
The museum houses the collection of the industrialist Inocencio Bocanegra from Burgos, who over a lifetime gathered hundreds of radio communication devices from the military, scientific, nautical and aviation fields. It is one of the most important collections of this kind open to the public in Europe and tells the story of wireless communications in the 20th century.
It is housed in a former grain silo, the first in Spain to be fully restored with all its machinery. The route is organised into recreations that evoke milestones of the 20th century: the first-class deck and the radio room of the Titanic, the largest reproduction of a First World War trench in Europe, a room dedicated to the Second World War, another to the space race and the Cold War, and a replica of Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin with an original M-60 Patton tank.
Among the pieces, a complete Russian cosmonaut suit, a crystal radio from the 1920s, night-vision goggles and equipment used in the Second World War stand out. A Bell UH-1 helicopter from the Vietnam era, on loan from the Ministry of Defence, can also be visited inside.
