About the museum
The Casa Museo Francisco Torregrosa was created on 9 May 1998 in the house in Muro de Alcoy where the painter Francisco Torregrosa was born. With it, the artist wanted to give his work a permanent home; paintings from his early years are also kept there.
Torregrosa divides his exhibition activity between this museum and his Institution of Creative Art, which he has run in the United States since the 1990s. Each year he organises two exhibitions, one at each venue, so that each show stays open for almost twelve months.
The permanent exhibition brings together works in various styles by the artist, grouped in series such as Naturaleza y Color, Geométricos, Cosmos y Algas Marinas, made using techniques such as oil, acrylic and mixed media. The painter personally welcomes visitors, who must request an appointment by email.
