About the museum
Aggarps kvarn is a Dutch-type windmill completed in 1896. The miller Per Andersson had moved to Aggarp in 1871 and taken over a stub mill on the site, which was demolished as the business grew. The mill remained in the family's ownership until 1965 and was operated until 1951, by Axel, the miller's son, among others.
In 1965 the dilapidated mill was donated to Svedala köping. Svedala Red Cross corps was granted the right of use and carried out an extensive renovation, and the mill was reopened in 1971. The municipality later also bought the miller's house and outbuildings so that the whole miller's farm could be preserved. The rooms in the miller's house were furnished to show different historical periods, and the mill and the houses were opened to the public for the first time at the mill day in July 1992.
Since 2006, the Föreningen Svedala-Barabygden association has handled daily supervision under an agreement with the municipality, which owns the facility and covers costs and repairs. The mill turns 130 years old in 2026.
