About the museum
After Tim Bergling's death in 2018, his parents visited ABBA The Museum and decided to create a similar museum as a tribute to their son. They wanted to give fans a place to remember and celebrate his work, and to learn more about how he made his music.
Avicii Experience opened on 26 February 2022 at Sergels torg in central Stockholm. The museum is run as part of Pophouse, and part of the profit goes to the Tim Bergling Foundation.
The exhibition follows different stages of Bergling's life and includes, among other things, a reconstruction of his childhood bedroom and the mansion he had in Los Angeles. It also presents music that has never been published before. The exhibitions also aim to raise awareness of mental ill-health among young people and in the music industry.
The museum is not intended to be permanent at the site, but according to the museum the exhibition will stay in Stockholm for at least a few years. A visit takes about 1–1.5 hours, and the exhibition is in English.
