About the museum
At the southern end of Hanö harbor stands Bödeboden, a fishing shed from 1958 where fishermen once repaired their gear. With support from the EU, Blekinge Region and the Blekinge County Administrative Board, the shed was converted into a small museum about the island’s nature, culture, fishing and history.
The building is owned by Hanö Hamn- och Byaförening (Hanö Harbor and Village Association). In bad weather the premises can also be used for school teaching, and the house contains a small library where visitors can borrow a book and leave another.
Hanö is a small island off the Blekinge coast, reached by passenger ferry from Nogersund. The museum lies by the long harbor, close to the guest harbor and the restaurant, and is one of the island’s attractions alongside the lighthouse and the nature.
