About the museum
The Bruksmuseet in Köpmanholmen is housed in the small square house Bläckhornet, which was built in 1864 in connection with the establishment of the steam sawmill (ångsåg) and is part of the oldest surviving works buildings in the village. The house was home to, among others, the machinist at the steam sawmill and later the blacksmith Erik Westlin and his family, until the 1960s.
In the 1950s Nätra hembygdsförening (Nätra Local Heritage Society) raised the idea of a museum that would tell the history of industry in Nätra, as a counterpart to the folk history of the homestead museum. The company NCB donated the house to the association in 1970. In addition to a large archive of documents and photographs, objects were collected that show the history of the company and the district.
Today Bläckhornet is furnished as it may have looked during the works' heyday, so that visitors get a picture of what it was like to live in Köpmanholmen. Next door is Ringarbönninga, a rebuilt workers' dwelling that was inaugurated in 2021 and houses a café and exhibitions, made possible by the Mikko Andersson Foundation.
