About the museum

Naturum Höga Kusten is the visitor centre of the Höga Kusten World Heritage Site and lies at the foot of Skuleberget outside Docksta. It serves as a gateway to nature in a landscape where land uplift after the ice sheet has been greater than anywhere else in the world. Together with the Kvarken archipelago in Finland, the area has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The nearest neighbor is the Skuleberget nature reserve, and Skuleskogen National Park lies roughly ten kilometers away. The exhibitions deal with land uplift, the World Heritage Site and Skuleskogen National Park. Throughout the year naturum offers lectures, guided walks and activities for all ages, and school classes receive in-depth visits.

Several trails start outside naturum, including the Höga Kustenleden (High Coast Trail), and on Skuleberget there is, among other things, climbing on via ferrata routes and a café.
